The EU General Safety Regulation (GSR) is a set of rules established by the European Union to enhance vehicle safety and reduce road fatalities and injuries. It mandates the inclusion of advanced safety features in new vehicles sold within the EU, aiming to protect both vehicle occupants and vulnerable road users like pedestrians and cyclists. The GSR is a key component of the EU’s “Vision Zero” initiative, which targets zero road deaths and serious injuries by 2050.
